Alpha Epsilon Pi, the Jewish Fraternity of North America, was founded to provide opportunities for a Jewish man seeking the best possible college and fraternity experience. We have maintained the integrity of our purpose by strengthening our ties to the Jewish community and serving as a link between high school and career. Alpha Epsilon Pi develops leadership for the North American Jewish community at a critical time in a young man's life. Many people join fraternities simply to be a part of something in college, to make their experience more worth while. However, while you do get that, joining our fraternity means so much more. The commitment of brotherhood between each member helps to build strong ties that can last a life time. As a Jewish fraternity, you know you will already have something very important in common with the rest of the brothers. The experiences you will gain in our fraternity will stick with you forever.
The Sigma Alpha Chapter of Alpha Epsilon Pi at Virginia Tech is one of the fastest growing fraternities on campus. We are branching out into all of the different aspects of Greek life as our numbers increase. We have participated in a number of intramural sports such as flag football, volleyball, wallyball, and innertube water polo. In addition to athletics, this past semester we hosted our Fifth annual Kiddush Kup to raise money for our national philanthropy, Chai Lifeline. Both students and local residents participated in time trial go-kart racing. It was fun for all and we broke all of our charity fundraising records. Two of our brothers also participated in the ING Miami Half Marathon and have pledged to raise $3600 each for Chai Lifeline by the end of the year. In addition to philanthropic efforts, AEPi prides itself in its brotherhood activities as well as activities involving other Greek sororities and fraternities and the community.
Our current brothers range in majors from English to Business to Computer Science to International Studies, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, and many others. Nine times out of ten, if one of us is having school trouble, there will be at least two or three brothers there with the knowledge and willingness to help. We hold mandatory weekly study sessions for all new members and all members with a below satisfactory GPA. People say joining a fraternity will destroy your academic life and will take up too much time. Those people never had the opportunity to join Alpha Epsilon Pi. We pride ourselves in achieving above average GPAs and make it a main priority of all brothers of this fraternity.
